History

The Connecticut Women's Council (CWC) is a greater Hartford area membership organization that serves as a catalyst for diverse professional and executive women who are leaders in their businesses and in the community to connect, collaborate and grow.

The CWC contributes to the personal and professional lives of its members through its unique programs and our annual Women in Leadership signature event.  CWC events and special interest groups are designed to offer unique access to interesting people, stimulating topics and distinctive venues.  Approximately eight programs are held per year.

The Connecticut Women's Council was founded in 1993.  Since that time, businesswomen, entrepreneurs, professionals, executives from non-profit organizations and members of the public sector have come together to establish friendships and professional contacts.  Members have particularly valued the opportunity to meet interesting women they may not have met in the normal course of their business life.

CWC members of all ages share a commitment to making a difference in their professional and community lives.  CWC welcomes new members throughout the year and endorses equal opportunity among its members.

The organization's strategic plan sets forth a description of our members.  We are successful working professionals, entrepreneurs and executives from the private, public and non-profit sector who want to make a difference.  We are leaders in our businesses and communities.  We are an organization where women can build professional and personal relationships.  We are an organization that is primarily funded through membership and program fees.  We are not an organization that promotes or allows active solicitation of our members, has a political agenda or makes charitable donations.
